As of today the first draft of my first novel is complete! These are Stone Devils is the working title...any thoughts? The story follows our lead character a biology teacher Annette Sparrow as she escapes a bad relationship and hectic city life for an idyllic prep school in Dartmoor national park, little did she or the rest of us know that day zero was upon us. The first of a trilogy still needs some work but I really like my characters and the new type of infected I've written into being. My hope is that with these books I'll take people through the horror of an unknown infection and the collapse of modern civilization.

What I'm reading

I've got to be honest with you I get my fiction fix from audiobooks! I love reading but as a father, husband and full time day jobee I struggle to find time to write let alone get my entertainment so audiobooks allow me to multitask. I listen to a lot of different genres despite my favourite being horror especially apocalyptic stories but right now I'm into I Am Pilgrim. I'm enjoying the villain backstory particularly and hearing how he became the biggest threat to the world. It's a great thriller with a murder mystery going on at the same time and it's keeping me gripped. Save the world thrillers for me are very apocalyptic except I like it when the hero doesn't save the day...at least not straight away.
